Burning Jdrama onto a disc and passing it on to a friend who doesn’t have a fast internet connection is a great way to share Japanese drama. Today, there are dozens of programs out there for people to choose from to burn their blank discs. In my opinion, some programs are worth downloading and some programs are just filled with too many unnecessary bloatware. Below you will find some programs that I find useful for burning discs on Windows.
1) Nero Lite
I have been using Nero Burning ROM for about a decade now and it use to be my choice of preference for burning discs. Back in the day when everybody wanted a CD Burner, Nero was really almost the only game around for burning discs. Even so, back then it did it’s job well and over the years it has added support for other media such as DVDs and Blu-Ray discs as well.
The only problem I have with Nero nowadays is that it contains a lot of bloatware starting with the past few revisions of Nero such as Nero 9, 8, and 7 and it takes up a lot more space. That is where Nero Lite comes into play. Nero Lite is very similar to Nero Burning ROM except that it doesn’t contain a lot of programs that you’re probably never going to use and it takes up a lot less space than Nero does.
Nero Lite is available to everyone but requires an activation key for Nero 7 or 8 and won’t work unless you have one. Besides Nero Lite, there is also another version of Nero from the same developer called Nero Micro available for people who just want the bare necessities for burning discs. Unfortunately, there is no Nero Lite being developed for Nero 9 because the author said is was too big to handle and there won’t be anymore future updates to Nero Lite at all due to advancements in other burning software. Even so, I like the familiar interface and use Nero Lite to burn my discs.
This is the reason why Nero Lite is no longer being developed. InfraRecorder is a very promising program but in the past it has been known to be unstable. With recent releases though it is much more stable. The developer of Nero Lite suggests people use this program as a replacement for Nero Lite. I have used it before and it has a lot of features like Nero does, doesn’t take up a lot of space, and is very easy to use even for beginners. The best part of all is that InfraRecorder is free ^_^
