A New Year, A New Name!

From time to time, I get questions asking about why our web address is www.easydrama.com but our website name is Drama Made Easy. As far as I know, there’s no rule that states that your URL must match the name of your website but the reason behind it is really simple actually. www.easydrama.com looks a lot nicer and is a little bit shorter to type than www.dramamadeeasy.com. It’s as simple as that ^_^
Originally, when this blog was hosted by wordpress.com, I wanted the web address to be dmez.wordpress.com. That way, it would be easy to type and reflect the acronym for the name of the actual website. Unfortunately though, that address was already taken by another user and I really didn’t want to use dramamadeeasy.wordpress.com so I settled on ezdrama.wordpress.com instead.
When I switched over to independent hosting however, ezdrama.com was already taken by another site. This time, I decided not to use dmez.com because ezdrama really does roll off the tongue much easier so I decided on easydrama.com as a substitute. Despite that, since so many users were already use to Drama Made Easy I decided to keep the name and just change the URL.
From today onwards, that will no longer be the case and Drama Made Easy will be simply referred to as EasyDrama. After starting EasyDrama Subs I have been getting more and more visitors and I really think it is more appropriate for the two names to match. I would rather change the name of the site to EasyDrama instead of create DramaMadeEasy Subs. I added the “+ Company” because this site has projects created by other groups as well but the name may change in the future.
If I had a choice to redo things all over, I think I would have gone with easydrama.wordpress.com from the very beginning. But with most things in life, you’ll only see some things better in retrospect. For now, I’m still going to keep dmezadmin@gmail.com as the main contact address and username of the site since so many people have already written to me there and it is already registered with this blog.
I know that this is nothing earth-shattering but nonetheless I think that this is something all readers should know. Please excuse any discrepancy regarding the name as I update any references in this site that still contains Drama Made Easy with EasyDrama. With that being said, Easy Drama will have it’s first release of the new year for you very soon! =)
